Availability of Entlebucher Puppies for Sale

2010 pups are all spoken for.

If you are interested in my 2011 waiting list please contact me.

If you can't wait, please contact a  NEMDA breeder from the Breeder's Code of Ethics (BCOE)  list on the NEMDA web site.

If you are specifically seeking a Wildhorn pup for conformation or performance, please contact me so that we can discuss upcoming breedings.

If you have questions feel free to contact me at 440-997-5629. If you don't get an immediate call back, e-mail about it or call again. I try and return all calls and mail promptly but sometimes life and work and dogs get in the way and a message is inadvertently overlooked or lost.

If you e-mail me, please let me know that you have already visited this site.   That way I have a better idea of the information you already have. (Although sometimes folks say they have read the info and nearly every question they asked is dealt with in detail on the site. ;-)

I like to speak by phone with potential buyers and I have an application that I can provide after a phone conversation. Thanks for visiting.

Entlebuchers are wonderful dogs in the right home situation with a knowledgeable, experienced owner who is willing to put the time and energy into proper training. Unfortunately, many people see only the Simon and Schuster Guide to Dogs quote, “it is extremely strict with cows but extraordinarily gentle with children” and then “and inclined above all to playing with children, and, if necessary, defending them” - they fall in love. Although Entles are/can be great family pets, they are often “too much dog”, and too active or challenging for inexperienced families. The adolescent Entlebucher pup, without proper “parenting” can develop dominant behaviors that are not acceptable.

Often toddlers are overwhelmed and frightened when a puppy "herds" them by nipping heels, "mouthing" them and jumping on them. Children five and older are better able to deal with that kind of "attention." Also families with prior successful puppy raising experience are not as surprised or overwhelmed with typical herding puppy behavior.

Unfortunately,  inappropriate placements often result in the return of the dog to the breeder or removal to foster care. These situations are very traumatic for both dog and family. My pups future lives are most important to me so appropriate placements are critical.

If possible, visit someone with Entlebuchers and ask questions. Most owners love to show off their dogs. I love to have visitors. If you live in my region, let me know if you want to meet with some Entles "up close and personal".

On rare occasion an older Entlebucher or older pup may be available for rehoming due to incompatibility with the family,  family problems or a change in the buyers life circumstances. In those cases I take the Entlebucher back, evaluate the dog to determine the most appropriate type of home for that particular Entle and then place him/her.
